This is an in-depth course in basic life support. Students learn about acute illnesses, medical emergencies, traumatic emergencies, childbirth, rescue extrication, ambulance operations, splinting techniques, communication and documentation, medical-legal implications, AED/CPR, basic medications and their effects. The course meets or exceeds current National EMS Guidelines and has Massachusetts OEMS approval. Students will earn 6 college credits upon program completion. MassHire grants are for income-eligible or unemployed individuals who are seeking employment. Grants will only be awarded to those who agree to find training related employment upon course completion and obtainment of industry certification. MassHire also provides job placement assistance to program participants. Plymouth campus starts August 26, 2024. Quincy Campus starts September 3, 2024.
