Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical Institute What is a Marine Technician? A marine technician, also known as a marine mechanic, specializes in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of marine equipment and vessels. They work on a range of watercraft, including boats, yachts, and ships, ensuring these vessels operate safely and efficiently. Program Highlights Engine Maintenance and Repair - Learn to service and repair inboard and outboard engines, including both gasoline and diesel types. Hull and Structural Repairs - Learn to repair and maintain the boat’s hull, including fiberglass, wood, and metal work. Students completing this program will be prepared for entry-level jobs in the industry and will earn the OSHA-10 & Yamaha Certifications. Orientation: Monday, October 21, 2024 Classes meet Monday through Thursday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
