Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical Institute What is a Boat Technician? A boat technician, also known as a marine technician, specializes in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of marine equipment and vessels. They work on a range of watercraft, including boats, yachts, and ships, ensuring these vessels operate safely and efficiently. Program Highlights * Engine Maintenance and Repair - Learn to service and repair inboard and outboard engines, including both gasoline and diesel types. * Hull and Structural Repairs - Learn to repair and maintain the boat’s hull, including fiberglass, wood, and metal work. * Students completing this program will be prepared for entry-level jobs in the industry and will earn the OSHA-10 & Yamaha Certifications.
