MassHire GNB Career Center Hosts Successful Job Fair in Preparation for MBTA Commuter Rail Arrival on the Southcoast
In preparation of the MBTA’s commuter rail coming to the SouthCoast this month, MassHire Greater New Bedford Career Center hosted a job fair and industry briefing on March 14, 2025. The event began at 10:00 am sharp with comments from Senator Mark Montigny who advocated with the MBTA and Keolis, the organization that manages the commuter rail operations, to create these local employment opportunities. Over 100 registered job seekers, along with even more walk-ins, learned about available positions and how to apply for these openings. The success of this event has prompted MassHire to consider additional recruitment event in support the MBTA and Keolis staffing need and provide residents with sustainable jobs in an established industry that has arrived in the SouthCoast.
