The MassHire Greater New Bedford Career Center has earned high honors from the Massachusetts Department of Career Services (MDCS), receiving the 2025 Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) “Silver” Award, along with incentive funding to strengthen services for local Veterans.
This award celebrates Career Centers across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that go beyond in supporting Veterans with employment, training, and job placement. It recognizes not just a Veterans Unit or Specialist, but the entire Career Center team, working together to modernize services, prioritize Veterans, and deliver measurable results. Staff, partners, and local organizations work hand-in-hand to connect Veterans with opportunities. Services include career counseling, training programs, and job placement assistance. In fact, earlier this year we rolled out our first-ever grant-funded Veteran and Spouse Transitional Assistance Program that empowers BOTH veterans and their spouses to obtain sustainable employment with advancement opportunities. The center’s unified approach ensures that every Veteran receives the tools and support they need to succeed in the workforce.
