Calling all Students and Businesses to the MassHire Greater New Bedford Workforce Board Youth Career Expo!

Yourh Career Expo

On April 13th, the Youth Team will host the very first Youth Career Expo at the Kilburn Mill from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. The Youth Career Expo is intended to engage hundreds of South Coast high school students and inform them of career pathways and job opportunities.

With a variety of businesses and community organizations operating directly in Kilburn Mill, this allows the students to explore hundreds of businesses in one location.

Other business and organizations have been  invited to participate and will be available to interact with students in the spacious event center located on the third floor of Kilburn Mill.

The expo will also include several resources for students surrounding Social Emotional Learning, mindfulness and the importance of a self-care both physically and mentally.  It is going to be a great experience for the students in a new and exciting atmosphere!

The opportunity to send Junior and Seniors is open to all the schools within our service area and space is limited.  Kilburn Mill is a very large and spacious venue which allows for social distancing. Mask will also be required and all COIVD-19 protocols will be followed to ensure everyone is safe and healthy.

Transportation for the students can be subsidized using your school’s Connecting Activities funds. The Workforce Board’s Youth Team has also been working closely with local bus companies who may be able to donate some of the means of transportation.

For more information on how to send your students to the Youth Career Expo contact Deven Robitaille at deven@mhgnb.com with the times and number of students you like to attend the expo.
