National Safety Council – Roadmap to a Recovery Ready Workplace

The Employment and Training Administration’s (ETA) Office of Workforce Investment (OWI) is rolling out its Fall Series of technical assistance on the role of the workforce system in serving individuals with substance use disorders. OWI, in collaboration with the National Safety Council, is hosting this webinar on tools and resources for creating safe work environments while supporting individuals in recovery.

The National Safety Council, America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate for more than 100 years, focuses on areas it can make the greatest impact: workplace, roadway, and impairment. NSC starts in the workplace, giving companies resources workers can actually use around risks they are actually facing – all while fostering a culture of safety. In this webinar, guest speakers from the National Safety Council will share a road map on how to use multiple tools that will be useful for workforce professionals throughout the workforce system as well as employers, in creating recovery-ready workplaces. Among the tools and resources to be shared are a substance use cost calculator, mental health cost calculator, Opioids at Work Employer toolkit that provides recommendations based on job role, and a variety of resources employers can use to support employees dealing with substance use and mental health issues.
