MassHire Greater New Bedford Unveils Upcoming Workforce Initiative to Support Veterans and Their Spouses in Transition to Civilian Careers
New Bedford, MA – The MassHire Greater New Bedford Workforce Development Board announced today a new $350,000 grant providing comprehensive transitional support to veterans and their spouses that will begin in 2025.
Job Opportunity — Receptionist

The Massachusetts Carpenters Union is offering a Facility Tour for Veterans. This is the perfect opportunity for interested individuals to explore the Carpenter’s Union Training Center, located at 13 Holman Rd, Millbury, MA 01527 and see firsthand what it offers. The schedule includes:
- Tour: 9:30am – 11:00am
- Lunch: 11:00am – 11:45am (provided on site)
- Info Session: 11:45am – 1:15pm
- Q&A Session: 1:15pm – 1:30pm
Attendees will:
- Meet Leadership – Engage with the Union’s leadership team and learn about their vision and opportunities
- Meet Veteran apprentices – Connect with current Veteran apprentices and hear about their experiences
- The event is sponsored by EOVS and the North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund (NASCTF), in collaboration with Helmets to Hardhats and EOLWD

Transportation from Boston is available to the first 10 Veterans who request it via the registration form. Pick up will be at 7:30am at the New England Center and Home for Veterans, located at 17 Court St, Boston, MA 02108. For those that drive directly there is a parking lot at the NASCTF.
